The 14,651km² Hwange National Park lies in north-western Zimbabwe on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, about 200kms/3hrs south of Victoria Falls. The country’s largest national park, it is home to over 100 African wild mammal species including the famous Big-5 i.e. lion, leopard, one of the largest population elephant in the world, rhino and buffalo, numerous other terrestrials including gemsboks and brown hyenas, more than 400 species of birds and other fauna and flora.Activities in the park include regular game viewing drives in search of African wildlife, the Painted Dogs Project tour.
