Mapungubwe National Park is South Africa’s historically most significant national park with archaeological excavations dating back to the iron ages, 700 years. Situated in the Limpopo River Valley 550kms north of Johannesburg on the border with Zimbabwe and Botswana, her 280km² of baobab studded landscape is home to many species of Africa wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, several species of antelope including eland, wildebeest, kudu, impala, klipspringer, steenbok as well as hippos, crocodiles, Meerkats (!),over 385 species of birds and stunning scenery.
